Extinctions : The Ourangoutan
Exploring the forests of Northern Sumatra, one of the greatest primate specialists, David Delatorre, watches a female orangutan called Ratna, an ape he has studied on many occasions. This time, he cannot believe his eyes. Through his binoculars, he sees Ratna eating her own baby! What has brought Ratna to this? How will she behave with the new baby she is expecting in a constantly shrinking habitat eaten away by oil palm plantations?
Ratna may have lost her mind, but some think that there is a still unknown population of the apes living in the north of Borneo. They are thought to be black orangutans! We set out to find them and try to discover what could save their species.
