FL Concepts & Co has the backing of a network of international partners. This has, for instance, enabled it to co-develop a fiction series entitled Jungle Express with Canadian group Cirrus Communication, a leading player in television and movie fiction (including the award winning feature movie C.R.A.Z.Y.).
Since the series is to be shot in Asia, the project already has the backing of the Singapore MDA (Media Development Authority) and Oak 3 Films, a highly regarded Asian partner and established name in the production of TV programs and movies for theater release.
Many other partners (institutions, distributors and broadcasters) have already expressed an interest in this series.
The FL Concepts & Co network also includes many international broadcasters, notably:
- NHK (Japan)
- ARD, VOX (Germany)
- Canal D, TFO, High Fidelity HDTV (Canada)
- TV Brasil, TV Cultura, Televisa (Latin America)
- TV Catalunya, RTVE (Spain)
- RAI (Italy)
- YLE (Scandinavia)
- TSR (Switzerland), RTBF (Belgium)
- Discovery Channel, Animal Planet (all countries)
FL Concepts & Co is currently producing The Drowning Forest for 3D theater release and broadcasting. This 90’ movie under development with Disney South America is the subject of a coproduction agreement with Brazil’s Gullane, a company specialized in the production of feature length motion pictures that have won awards at many international festivals (Cannes, Venice, Berlin). Gullane is a regular partner for FL CONCEPTS & CO. The movie budget is 8 million euros (over $10m - May 5, 2010 exchange rate).
Since the start of 2010, FL Concepts & Co has finalized the acquisition of Interscoop, founded in 1983 by Christophe de Ponfilly and Frédéric Laffont. This has provided FL Concepts & Co with an additional catalogue of more than a hundred films. With its takeover of Interscoop, FL Concepts & Co (along with Films d’Ici and Agat Films) has also become a partner and stockholder of the Doc & Film distribution company, specialized in the sale of documentary and fiction productions.
FL Concepts & Co. also has an Asian subsidiary: Yellow River Co. Ltd.
A main asset of FL Concepts & Co is the impressive experience of Frédéric Lepage, author of novels published worldwide, developer of TV shows such as the French version of Win, Lose or Draw and the French version of Disney Club, and writer and director of the feature movie Sunny and the Elephant. Frédéric Lepage is also an expert on China and the civilizations of Southeast Asia, and a member of the Siam Society.
